Before i even opened the game, i had a vague expectation of what it was going to be. A Battlefield: Bad Company mod. My expectation was brought upon by seeing images/videos where the game looked and sounded almost exactly the same as BF:BC, and after all, this games multiplayer was made by DICE.
Booting up the game i had already gotten issues, no games would connect. I tried several times and kept getting dropped from EA's servers before ever even joining a game. This is nothing new to betas. After about 25 minutes of retrying, the game finally connected me to a server, and i was free to play. My expectations weren't far from the truth.
Right off the bat i noticed that just about everything reminded me of BF:BC. The maps were large, and people are picking you off from a distance with sniper rifles before you even see them. Not only this, but i felt like the art assets were ripped directly from BF:BC2 in some areas. DICE had taken the cheapest route possible in this multiplayer, and made the only thing they can possibly make, another battlefield game.
So, you are probably thinking that this game must be bad, right? Well, it's not. It's actually pretty good, but it's a game that most hardcore gamers have already played several times before. There are literally about 3 things that differentiate this game from any other dice game, and it makes me sad.
